After a separation or divorce, you may feel ready to transform your life into one you’ve always dreamed of living. There is no better time than the beginning of a new year. As we head into not only a new year, but a new decade, taking time to get clear on what you desire for your life is the key to making permanent changes.
So what’s the deal with making new year’s resolutions? A resolution is a statement we make about something specific we want to change. It’s a goal that is non-negotiable. There is no room for error. The minute we make a choice that does not align with our resolution, we feel we broke it and failed.
An intention, on the other hand, is a course of action that you set up that leads you to the desire you want to achieve. It allows for adjustments if you veer off course so that you can re-commit to your journey toward your desired outcome.
The energy in the Universe right now is calling all of us to step up into our highest self and create with trust and ease. A separation or divorce is a call to listen to your authentic voice and follow your dreams. The desire to create what you most want in your life is strong. Use this change in your life to get very clear on where you want to go.
Anything is possible and you can create whatever your heart desires as long as you put your attention on it. Believing that it will just come or that you will just go with the flow of whatever shows up, will not get you the kind of life that is the most satisfying and authentically yours.
The gift that comes from heartbreak is the journey within to uncover your greatest potential. We can use this experience to look inside instead of outside of ourselves to unlock our destiny. It takes a trauma such as heartbreak to get our attention to finally heal all that is within our way to creating a life we love.
So set some time for yourself within the first week of this new year and create a vision for your brand new life in this brand new decade. The use of a vision board for setting intentions is the fastest way to achieving them.
Here’s what you’ll need:
1 large poster board
magazines
scissors
glue sticks
candles
crystals
CREATE YOUR SACRED SPACE
The first thing you want to do is set up your environment to create a sacred space to do your vision board. You may want to burn sage to clear the energy of your space. Light several candles and make a hot cup of herbal tea (choose your favorite tea or blend). Connecting to the flowers and plants while drinking the tea and thinking about your intentions is very powerful. You may also want to have your favorite crystals on the table next to you. You can check out this selection of crystals. Diffusing essential oils is a great way to raise your energy to one of joy and love. This diffuser is beautiful and will work well with these essential oils.
PREPARE YOUR WORK SPACE
Make sure you have your poster board, magazines, scissors and glue sticks. Spend time looking through the magazines for pictures of what you’d like to manifest in your life. Make sure you sit at a large table or on the floor with plenty of room to spread out. Cut them all out first before you create your board.
CREATE YOUR VISION BOARD
Once you have all the pictures you want, begin to glue them onto your poster board in a way that feels good to you. Also, look for words that describe how you’d like to FEEL when you fulfill your dreams. Then add these words onto the board to remind you of how you want to feel when you achieve each of your intentions. The key is to FEEL how you would feel when you achieve your dreams as if they are already here.
As you place each picture or word on your board, say, “this or something better.” Because although we have a vision of exactly what we desire, you need to leave room for the Universe to bring you what is for your highest and greatest good.
ALLOW THE UNIVERSE TO BRING YOU YOUR DESIRES
After you’ve completed your board, hang it on a wall in a spot in your home where you will see it everyday. Hanging it on a wall across from your bed where you will see it as soon as you open your eyes in the morning or the last thing you see when you close your eyes for the night is a great spot. It will impress upon your subconscious and this is where the magic happens.
Whatever you picture for your life or feel will take hold in your subconscious mind and then will manifest into your physical reality. Take a picture of your board and use it on your laptop or phone as your backdrop. Create a time first thing every morning to sit for 5 minutes focusing on your intentions and how you’ll FEEL as if they are already manifested. Gratitude for all that you have and all that you desire will accelerate your manifestations.
There is one important thing to remember. Your desires in your heart are there for a reason and would not be there if it was not possible to attain. But Divine Timing will bring it to you when you’re ready. Focus on healing all that is within you so that you can manifest your dreams and desires faster.

After divorce, your life as you knew it is gone and you may find yourself in a space I call the Void. Your past life is gone, yet you have not moved forward into your new life. You have a blank slate to create whatever your heart is yearning for. Look at this time as very important work in order to have the kind of life you’ve always dreamed of. Your life did not end with your marriage. This time is for uncovering all that you’ve kept under wraps. It’s your time to shine.
Manifest your dreams. There is nothing that is too good for you. If you can dream it, it’s achievable.
Wishing you so much love,
Lisa
