Why Hormonal Balance is Key to Living on Purpose!


I am in the middle of a four-day hormonal re-set cleanse which is perfect timing for the launch of Alisa Vitti’s paperback version of her book Woman Code: Perfect Your Cycle, Amplify Your Fertility, Supercharge Your Sex Drive, and Become a Power Source.  This is her signature cleanse to kickstart the healing of your endocrine system which is the system responsible for maintaining hormonal balance.  If you are experiencing any hormonal imbalance, PMS or struggling with fertility, this is the book for you.  I read her book when it first came out in hard cover and have been following her recommended diet plan.  It’s not a diet per se, but rather a lifestyle plan that follows the natural rhythm of your cycle. Her main premise is that food is medicine and by adapting our lifestyle to include specific nutrient dense whole foods in conjunction with each phase of our cycle, we can heal and begin to live the vibrant, healthy life that is our birthright. Not only is this so important to heal any physical ailments, but eating in a way that supports every aspect of who you are as a woman allows you to access that deep inner wisdom; your sacred inner voice.  When the noise and buzzing of lack of sleep, insomnia, fatigue, moodiness, weight gain, infertility, depression, bloating and cramping make up most of your daily existence, you are unable to hear the voice of your Higher Self and follow through with action steps toward fulfilling your dreams.  It’s a distraction that can be remedied with a few tweaks in your lifestyle.  In her book, Alisa dives deep into the workings of the endocrine system so you can understand your own biochemistry.  This is the first step in understanding how your hormones work and why her 5-step protocol is so effective.

The first step in her protocol is stabilizing your blood sugar levels.  How many times have you skipped breakfast and rushed through a quick lunch?  This has been the most effective step for me as I am committed to never skipping a meal again.  It’s so easy to throw your hormonal system out of whack and much harder to regain balance. So the first step is critical in maintaining that balance or to ensure you don’t stray too far off track and the key to living with the peace, joy and vibrancy that may be eluding you.

By leaning in to who we are and understanding our own system, we can begin to accept and appreciate all that we are as women.  Learning to be in the flow through your intuition and your connection to Spirit begins with healing and lightening your load in your physical body.  Creating hormonal balance is much more than just regulating your cycle and getting rid of PMS, it’s creating a life that you love.
